Kim Hobbs

Kim Hobbs holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and has dedicated her career to oncology social work, with nearly 30 years spent at the Westmead Centre for Gynaecological Cancer in Sydney, NSW. The Centre provides integrated psychosocial support as a core component of comprehensive cancer care for women with gynaecological cancer and their families across the full illness trajectory.

Kim’s work has combined clinical practice, research, and sector leadership. Her research interests have resulted in multiple publications in international peer-reviewed journals, and she has authored and co-authored chapters in two Australian texts focused on oncology and psychosocial care.

Throughout her career, Kim has served on numerous committees and working groups advocating for improved oncology services and the development of practical resources for clinicians and consumers. This has included collaboration with national and state peak bodies such as Cancer Australia, NSW Cancer Council, Cancer Institute NSW, NSW Health’s Agency for Clinical Innovation, and the Psycho-Oncology Co-Operative Research Group (PoCoG). She has also held senior representative roles, including OSWANZ representative on the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) Council, and positions on advisory and scientific committees supporting cancer care policy and research.

In recognition of her long standing service to community health and gynaecological oncology, Kim was awarded an Order of Australia on Australia Day 2026. This honour reflects her sustained contribution to patients, families, colleagues, and the broader oncology community.

While, Kim has retired from active clinical practice, she remaining deeply engaged in oncology and survivorship initiatives. Her extensive experience supporting women and families through cancer treatment, recovery, and life beyond cancer aligns closely with LiveWorkCancer’s mission. Her insight, values-driven leadership, and practical guidance continue to strengthen LiveWorkCancer’s work and strategic direction.
